June....the short version...

June came and went in the blink of an eye....

I left on June 4th and didn't get back until the 25th.  I headed to OK for work.  I did get to see a mustang friend while I was down there, so that was a bonus.

In the meantime, this is what I did see at home in June...

The peonies were in full bloom...

Grass was growing like crazy and the horses had fun playing in the yard while taking munchy breaks...

Zephyr gets caught right before she thinks she will kick at Red.  No, she just went thru the threatening gestures, and Red really didn't seem to care.  Notice Batman and Hershey watching the action...

Lots of daisies...

Hemi is being stealthy in the grass...

I hatched out some guinea keets to sell, then I had to leave.  That left Brian to sell them and it didn't take long.  There were 19 guinea keets and we hatched out two turkey chicks.  We also fostered one turkey chick.  Yes, we fostered a turkey.  Ha ha!  The foster is Gulliver who is in the front.  He is a Sweet Grass heritage breed turkey.  He is growing up quite nicely...he will go home soon.

While I was in OK I visited a western store and loved this bowl.  Horses are running into it, thru it and out the other side.  It is big too!

I had never heard of a Designer Shoe Warehouse.  The girls talked me into going and this is what I found!  Oh how I wish I could wear heels again!  I love these!!!  They looked hot on too!

A few years ago I got this belt buckle.  It is a horse head and I just was not finding a belt that looked good with it.  Black was too black, and brown was too brown.  At the western wear store in OK I found this belt that has a couple different browns....I like it!  Finally, I can wear my belt buckle!

When I was going out to visit my friend and his horses, we fought mosquitoes and horse flies.  This little sucker bit me!

I have never bragged on a t.v. in a hotel room before, but I am bragging on this one.  There were 3 or 4 themes you could pick when you turned it on and this was one of them.  The water actually rippled and you could listen to ocean sounds.  I set the timer to this one every night.  The first couple nights they had two palm trees and a beach in the picture, and the palm leaves blew in the wind along with hearing ocean sounds.  What a great way to fall asleep!

Well, there you have it...my June.  Actually I have a bunch of pictures I took at my friends place so might post some of those later.

Until later...Karen and Tripp who missed his Girl but didn't miss the work she makes him do.  :-)

Mood lighting...rainy ride...flooding roads... (end of May)

The end of May was no different than the crazy weather we have had earlier in the Spring.  I look at these pictures and smile.  I am one who loves looking back at what was...

After a rainy ride we had some of the neatest clouds!

Tandee in the back yard with mood lighting...I like to think that God is kissing everything with a very special light.

My girl is 32...I have had her in my life since she was 5.  :-)

The ride started out good.  Looked like it could rain but I thought "Oh, it won't rain.  I will be fine."  Famous last words!

TRIPP:  "Who could that be coming across the dam?"

TRIPP:  "Oh look!  It is Bob!"
Bob is a rider I have seen out here a few times.  Very nice fellow!  Bob didn't think it would rain either...at this point we were both pretty drenched.

I love Tripp!  I met these two riders who were riding English, and they asked if it was okay if they cantered off.  I said "Sure!" and Tripp was not at all interested in following them.  I will admit sometimes I wish he would get the lead out, but most of the time I am glad he doesn't feel the need to chase other horses.

This was a big camping weekend, and this group of riders came in right after me.  They were drenched too...and laughing and having a good time.

Tripp...not so much of a good time.  Ha!  He is still cute...even when he looks disgusted.

The rain happened quick...and a small stream was coming down the hill.  Can you tell the pics are out of order?

We crossed the road to pick up the trail, and this small group had the same idea...Tripp wanted to know if it was okay if he followed them.  This was before the rain and I still was feeling pretty confident it wouldn't rain.  Silly me!

Yep, let's follow them a while.  It was kinda funny because the person in front of me is a young kid, and he kept looking back at me.  I smiled and waved and there was no response...just watched me.  We all made it to the fork in the trail and they went to the right and I went to the left.

I went to visit a friend and was not there long.  The road was clear when I went to her house, and water was over the road when I came back.  Normally I won't drive thru water going over the road, but it happens here all the time and I knew I was good to go.

Then I made it to my road.  This area floods a lot too.  It was just a little weird because it happened so quickly.

The corner was covered...there are people on the other side checking it out.

And this is how it looked the next day.

The road started to wash out at a culvert.

The creek bed flooded into the pasture.

Not to fear...the cows had a path along the fence line and back up the hill if they decided to turn around.

And this is how it looked the next day.

I enjoying catching up on the blog...it reminds me that even tho I feel tired all the time, I still found time to enjoy life.  :-)

Until later...Karen and Tripp who jealous that cows had a 'pool' and he didn't.

Tripps version of the perfect bath after a ride...

Now the other side.....

AAAAHHHHHhhhhhhhh,,,,,life is good in Tripp's world.....

Until later, Karen and Tripp who is proud to be a boy who loves baths!  :-)

Tripp says "Apparently iNuNciation is important...nicker snort!"

Hello all!  Tripp here, and I want you all to know that the Girl doesn't forget anything!  Okay, I am sure she forgets some things, but why couldn't she forget this one little thing?

Let me start from the beginning.....the Girl left work early on May 17th because she was in a fuNk.  So I was telling all my horse and barnyard friends that the girl was in a fuNk so I took her out to make it all better.  Sounds great, right?

Well, apparently I don't pronounce my 'N's the way I should...so I was telling everyone the girl was in a Fu_k!  Ummm, yes....this is not a good thing!  Oops!  Nicker snort!

Do you think my barnyard friends could have at least told me?

Oh nooooo....instead they were all laughing, and I thought it was because I am fuNNy!

Thankfully the Girl thinks I am cute, and she forgave me.  Don't tell anyone, but I saw her hold her hand up to her mouth and look the other way...yes, she was giggling.  I am so happy the Girl loves me!

So, the girl was in a fuNk and she needed Mustang Tripp therapy.  What a beautiful day we had together!  Oh look!  Some other people have the same idea!

Crossing the lake dam...there is something jumping around in the grass....what can it be?

A finch!  It hopped around right below us.  I checked to make sure it was okay, and it was.  It flew off.  Whew!

Lots of pretty flowers are blooming...

The forest is starting to turn all green....I am writing this in July and it looks much different now than it did in mid May.

What a pretty day for a ride!

Tripp wanted to know who would leave a log in the middle of the trail...

Tripp:  "They could have at least left a treat on it!"

Tripp:  "I think I will move it out of the way so the next bypasser doesn't trip on it."

At the end of our ride we saw this thing go by...it was being pulled by mules.

What a great day to ride.  The days I can leave work early to go spend time with Tripp is always special.

I am so blessed!

Until later...Karen and Tripp who thinks 'N's are over rated.  :-)
