Test driving a Hemi......and a family visit...

It has been a while since I posted...we have been so busy, and I have been a little preoccupied with the Pryor Mountain mustang round-up. That just might be another post...if I make time.

First of all...we are test driving a Hemi.....

MEET HEMI!

HA HA HA!!!! Isn't he great??? A friend at work has a daughter who had him, and her husband went into the military. They also have 3 small kids and between them, the dog, and a cat with kittens she was being run ragged so needed to find a home for Hemi. I have always wanted a bulldog, and this was my chance. So, we are test driving him to make sure the other dogs will play nice. So far the two girls love him, and the other male dog who is a little older hates him. Things are calming down, but the animosity is still there. Hemi is 10 months old, so still very much a puppy and he has energy to burn.

My sister and her husband were visiting from Maryland, and they came up to visit Kaboodle Farm - that is us. :-) They brought their two dogs, so they got to meet Hemi too. We put all 3 dogs on a leash and went out to the barn lot to visit critters.

Hemi was not even phased by the larger animals. The donks wanted to stomp him - I really think they were trying to protect me. They eventually walked away, and I was glad. They had us surrounded with their heads down at Hemi. I was ready to put him back in his pen, then they walked away...whew! They are doing their job tho! Can't knock them for that.

The horses were curious about him too...here we have Nevada and Epona checking out Hemi. We put the horses on the hillside this week, and the plants with the green balls are out there...now all the manes and forelocks are full of them! Ugh! I knew there was something I wanted to do before we let them out there - it was mow. Oops!

Hemi is checked out by Wendigo, Tripp and Stormy. Hemi still doesn't care. Maybe caring takes too much effort. :-) He did not know he should be concerned with the donks either...he has some country learning to do.

Hemi licks Wendigo's nose...

Okay, visiting with horses is hard work....time for a break!

Too much effort to sit up...I need to lay down and let sister Kim pet me and Zoey can stand there and watch!

My sister Kim and her husband Mike love their dogs! You would think that those two dogs came from the same litter, but they came from different coasts of the country! One from California where they used to live, and one from Maryland where they are now.

Batman meets Zoey thru the gate...

Batman then stalks Tanner while he is not paying attention...Tanner is more interested in the pen full of birds...

One of the horses meets Zoey...both dogs did great around the big animals too!

Kim is picking little green fuzzy plant balls from Stormy's mane...

Mike was taking a picture of Hemi while the horses help...

Zoey needed a drink...the next thing we know she is in the tank! Kim says she loves the water and Zoey showed it! That girl was bouncing around, biting at the water...she was having fun! The even funnier thing was Mike and Kim were going to leave pretty quick...with Zoey all wet! Oops! :-)

Here is Brian trying to figure out if he wants to bond with Hemi...

It was a short but good visit from my Sis and her hubby, and I was so glad to finally meet their dogs! Like many people we know, our animals are our kids and we would do anything for them.

Hemi is still on a trial run - he has been here a few days. I figured a week was good enough to know how the dog family was going to get along...we have a few more days left. :-)
ISN'T HE CUTE?

Until later...Karen and Tripp, who kinda likes Hemi!
